Location
In Italy, in the heart of sunny Tuscany, between the provinces of Siena and Grosseto, the small medieval village of Monticiano rises on a hill surrounded by nature reserves.
Monticiano is set in a beautiful area between the slopes of the River Merse and the River Farma, surrounded by centuries-old oak and chestnut forests, which offer fascinating hiking spots and are home to a wide variety of wildlife.

Thanks to its natural beauty and pleasant landscapes, Monticiano is a favourite destination for nature lovers who want to spend time in a relaxing atmosphere.
Originally a manor of the Bishop of Volterra, it later came under the rule of Siena.
The remains of the castle can still be seen today, and the small medieval alleys of the village are very picturesque.
The village is home to the Sant Agostino monastery and church and the Biodiversity Museum, which focuses on the biodiversity of the surrounding valleys.
